Oberom

Oberom is a sampled version of Oberon by Land of Cockaigne, a VST plugin that is an attempt to imitate the classic analog polysynths. With its thick 2-pole dual filter, it's sound is reminiscent of the Arp 2600.

Oberom comes with the original 16 sounds. They have been sampled to be faithful copies of the presets that came with Oberon. Oberom is a must-have if you produce synthwave, synth-pop, vaporwave, and any other 80s influenced genres.

SQ8ROM

SQ8ROM is a free rompler virtual instrument offered in VST, VST3, and AU plugin formats for compatible digital audio workstations on PC and Mac. It is a sample-based recreation of the legendary Ensoniq SQ-80 hardware synthesizer. The SQ-80 was the successor of the much-beloved SQ-1 keyboard, featuring 41 additional waveforms and various hardware improvements. Similar to its hardware counterpart, SQ8ROM is a fantastic source of lush 80s-style pads, vintage leads, and warm bass sounds.

The instrument comes with 168 multi-sampled patches. These are all clearly labeled and easily accessible through the plugin’s preset browser. The source sounds can be tweaked using SQ8ROM’s volume envelope and LFO modulation controls. A built-in reverb is also included, courtesy of the MaizeSampler platform which was used as the framework for developing the plugin.

Orion Sound Module

SampleScience has announced the release ofOrion Sound Module, a free rompler instrument for Windows and Mac OS X.
The idea behind the Orion Sound Module plugin is to provide a rompler based on public domain samples that can be used to create royalty-free loops.
At first, the plugin was made for in-house loop production but SampleScience decided to share it with the world in the spirit of giving back to the community that gave them so much.
The result is a free 3GB rompler.
