Moss Equalizer works with FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) algorithms and is capable of steep frequency adjustments – from -150dB up to +60dB in the frequency domain of 10Hz to 20kHz.
With such a wide range for adjustments, the Range control in Moss Equalizer is particularly helpful. It lets you specify the minimum and maximum amplitude manually, in dB. Furthermore, the FFT algorithm can be adjusted manually as well with the provided FFT Size control.
Below it, you can choose a visual theme for the interface. Other options include Logarithmic Level and Spline Curves display, a Limiter, a Bypass switch, and a Dry/Wet mix knob for blending dry and equalized signals to taste.
An exciting feature we rarely see in other equalizer plugins is the comb filter modeling. Dialed in purposefully, it is capable of creating a vocoder-like effect. This is accomplished by using frequency characteristics that visually resemble a comb with sharp teeth, so to say. Its peak frequencies are tuned according to musical tonalities and their respective overtones.
Another useful and innovative feature is the ability to load frequency response files. The custom .MEB file format is a plain text file that can be edited with any text editor. The developer has provided a set of example files with comb filter characteristics to help new users explore the plugin’s musical filtering abilities more easily.
What’s even more interesting is that you can load frequency characteristics with a MIDI controller via regular CC mapping. This way, you can actually “play” the comb filters, not unlike a real vocoder.

Vocal King
Vocal King Plugin: Dynamic effect guaranteed to help instruments or vocals sit in the mix! Used in several studio's around the world. One of the best character compressors!
VK-2knob: The simple version of Vocal King. Great for compression any signal.
jParaComp: A dedicated stereo/parallel compressor.
jEq15Comp: Easy EQ the sound with the 15 band graphic equalizer. Afterwards, compress the signal.

- The pres compressor knob is the main work horse of the Vocal King. Turning the pres knob up turns up the gain and brings out the presence in the vocal along with giving it a smooth compression. Low cut, tighten, and bass works with the pres compressor to help take out the mud without making the vocal sound too thin. The crispy knob give highs some sparkle that many will find satisfying. Final compressor gives that extra compression to the vocal to make it sound thick. DB output turns the volume down. Use the power switch to quickly hear the difference between dry and processed. A, B, C, D, modes, I will let you find out what that means. The meters show gain reduction after signal is past 0db.

Ws Pro Audio EQ E87V2
E87 was developed for one purpose: to provide a discreet and transparent equalization with the option of a similar color. The "Color" function is not "based on" or an imitation of a similar machine.
Ws Pro Audio say "We used a house script associated with "hardware" machine (linear pulse) to feel the effect of the analog alone can give us. We also added a "saturation" effect, which is a digital saturation. Both effects combine to perfection."

SL532 Console EQ
-3-band EQ based off of a modern console
-Fixed 150Hz low shelf filter, variable mid-band from 80Hz to 8KHz, and selectable 8KHz or 16KHz high shelf filter
-Color circuit that adds an vintage analog feel
-Selectable High Pass Filter
-Very CPU efficient

SL84 is SmackLabs’ take on the 80 series Neve console EQ. According to the developers, it looks and, more importantly, sounds like the original.
SL84 Console EQ uses impulse responses to capture not just the frequency response of the hardware unit, but also the non-linear quirks such as any dynamic change or sonic distortion that occurs while adjusting the controls. This means the behavior of the EQ will be different depending on the amplitude and other characteristics of the input source.
SL84 has dials for low cut, high cut, low shelf, high shelf, and a mid-frequency band control with optional Hi-Q toggle. The higher Q setting would be useful for more surgical cutting, as opposed to boosting which typically sounds better at a lower Q. The frequency selection points for all of the dials are fixed. The restricted options preserve both the sound and workflow of the original units. The plugin also comes with a bypass button for the filter and EQ for easy A/B comparisons with the original input source.
It promises to be a low-CPU option for an expensive vintage sound.

Q3D
NTI Nightpro EQ3D is a 6-band equalizer that is best known for its boost-only “air” band which was designed for adding sheen and sparkle to vocals. The EQ also features extremely wide Q on all bands, resulting in pleasing, musical sounding boosts. Volko Audio’s free Q3D plugin emulates these features while aiming for optimized performance with a very low CPU hit. It is also completely free to download and use (activation required), unlike its hardware counterpart which costs anywhere between $1,500 and $1,800 in used condition.
Q3D copies the values and curves of each band found on the original NTI Nightpro EQ3D equalizer. The first five bands are set to 10 Hz, 40 Hz, 160 Hz, 650 Hz, and 2.5 kHz, whereas the “air” band comes with five preset cutoff frequencies (2.5 kHz, 5 kHz, 10 kHz, 20 kHz, and 40 kHz).

FILTEQ
Absession has released Filteq, a freeware 3-band coloring equalizer VST/AU plugin inspired by the Filtek MK3 vintage hardware EQ.
Filtek MK3 is a hardware equalizer from the 1970s, manufactured by the Swiss company FILTEK Labo SA based on the original design by Stefan Sulke. Designed primarily for use as broadcast modules, Filter MK3 and other units inspired by its design later found their use in recording studios. The EQ featured transformer-balanced inputs and outputs, a bypass switch, 3 parametric bands with a 12-way frequency selector on each one, and a pair of filters.

VHL-3C Pultec eq
VHL-3C, a freeware vintage Pultec-style filter effect.
VHL-3C is based on Black Rooster Audio’s component-based circuit simulation technology which was used to emulate the classic Pultec passive filter design. The plugin is suitable for cleaning up the high and low end of the processed signal’s frequency spectrum before it reaches an EQ or a compressor. The emulated filters sounds very natural and transparent, making them more suitable for use on certain types of audio material compared to a standard parametric EQ (most of which have built-in high-pass and low-pass filters).
The control scheme is very simple and intuitive. There’s a bypass switch, two cutoff knobs (one for each filter), and a switch for adjusting the filter slope. The cutoff knobs aren’t smooth. There’s a range of preset values to choose from, along with the “OFF” setting for each filter. The high-pass filter ranges from 50 Hz to 2 kHz, whereas the low-pass filter ranges from 1.5 kHz to 15 kHz.

Noisebud Chokidar EQ
Chokidar EQBalancing Mastering EQ
Chokidar EQ is intended for balancing mixes in mastering. Chokidar is build from an ingenious analogue concept that would have knocked your socks of if it wasn’t for the amount of added noise. When we went through the blue prints for the analogue circuits we realized that it would be fairly easy to make a digital version that would be completely noise free (digital “cabling” is good that way) so we went ahead and created the Hi-Shelf filter at first and got stunned how good it was. The principle seemed to migrate really well into the digital world so we decided to build the whole damn thing. You can almost guess what it does by just listen to it and you might as well do that because we’re going to keep the concept a secret, at least for now.

Semantic Audio SAFE project
Semantic Plugins
The SAFE Project is motivated by the lack of statistically-defined transferable semantic terms in music production and the requirement for more intuitive control of low-level parameters. One of the main outcomes of the project is a suite of DAW plug-ins that allow you to both save and load semantic terms from within the audio production workflow. This means you can now control your audio effect plug-ins using terms that normal human beings can understand! Just type a term (such as warm, bright, etc…) into the text-box, and if we have it on our server, your parameters will be moved around to represent this. Similarly, if you achieve an effect that can be explained in semantic terms, input it into the box and hit save. As the plug-ins are based on the music production community, the more users that input terms, the more representative the effects become for everyone else!
