The plugin has some basic effects: reverb, "punch", vinyl and a sub (which I personally find quite useful). It's based on the Yamaha RX5 basic set and it features 9 "kits", including 4 FM synthesizer sampled instruments (Yamaha loved their DX).

Doppler Dome is an audio plug-in based on the Doppler effect. Explained simply, the Doppler effect is something that happens to sound when the listener and the sound source are getting closer together or farther appart. For example, a car sound when you are in the car might have a particular frequency, but the frequency will be lower if the car is moving away from you, and will be like a record played at a lower speed. If the car passes right by you it will be high as it gets closer and then low as it gets farther. Doppler dome lets you adjust the amount of the pitch effect as well as pan and volume based on distance.
In Doppler Dome, the center is the listener and the sound source moves along a path. Drag the dots to adjust the path's bezier curves. The path can act like an LFO, or a loop. A midi note in message sent to the plugin will reset the path position to sync it with the project.
The Blend will mix the pitch effect with the dry signal, this is a bit like a chorus or modulated delay. The Pitch Scale knob determines how much pitch is affected, it can be turned off by setting it to zero. The Volume Scale Scale knob determines how much volume affected, based on distance. The Pan Scale Scale knob determines how much L/R position is affected, based on left and right position.

CL36 Multi-Band Clipper

CL36 is the latest release from J1000, a developer who has provided several truly fantastic freeware mixing tools in the past couple of years. His superb BTQ2 “twist” equalizer was included in BPB’s latest round-up of freeware VST plugins and the CH4D chorus effect is featured in our round-up of the best free chorus plugins. Since the new CL36 is such a unique clipper effect (at least on the freeware market), it’s quite possible that it will be included in this year’s best VST plugin round-up.

The plugin splits the incoming audio signal into three fixed frequency bands (low, mid, high, with variable crossover frequency). The three bands can be turned up or down using the gain knob, muted, and of course processed using the built-in soft-clipper circuit. It is also possible to engage the hard-clipping waveshaping curve, output filtering and global bypass. Finally, the plugin features a handy waveform display for visualizing the combined waveshaping effect of all three channels, as well as the additional M/S processing mode.

Smile: Fletcher-Munson based de-harsher

Here’s a spin off product from Fletchy-Muncher, with Fletchy-Muncher we used knowledge of the Fletcher-Munson effect to spot harshness. What we did with Smile was to invert the curve and by that create a plugin to get rid of harshness. To make it more musical we added a transient recovery that keep the most prominent transients around 3.5KHz and a tube emulated distortion around 400Hz, just to warm things up a bit. We also included a LP and HP filter to filter out the very low and high-end that, depending on the material, can get out of control. In the donation version you also have mid/side processing which is essential when trying to sweeten a mix in a transparent manner.
So in short, Smile is a Fletcher-Munson based de-harsher.

Charlatan is a polyphonic, subtractive virtual analog (VA) synthesizer plugin with focus on sound quality and easy usability. It comes with a flexible, yet not overwhelming feature set which encourages artists to start tweaking instead of just relying on presets. Inspite of it's simplicity, Charlatan's architecture is flexible enough to create both classic sounds and rather experimental noises. While making no compromise about sound quality, the sound engine has been highly optimized for efficient CPU usage making Charlatan well suited as a "bread and butter" synth even in projects with a large number of plugin instances.

eTap tape delay

The VST module we present is a result of about 6 years experience in analyzing, developing and creating patches for various echo gear.  From an engineering point of view, the objective was to emphasis on the already available vintage measurement libraries and applying the do- act-improve cycle to the design at hand as to maximum the possible performance possible.

The final approach taken is a dual approach. In many cases the guitar player is not interested in fine- tuning an echo device but would just like to select a recommended setting and play along with it. For this type of player the preset manager is loaded with a extensive set of pre-programmed patches ready to be used. In other cases where the guitar player requires matching the exact echo with the echo that was used to record the track from his/her favorite artist. The eTAP Engineer VST module is the assigned module that fits this requirement as it allows customizing the various filter and timing characteristics in minute details.

The emphasis for eTAP is geared towards the vintage echo's used by H.B. Marvin during the 1960- 1965 era. We believe "from the man himself" that the early recording are made without the Meazzi gear but with some sound- engineering tricks.
