Baby Comeback

Baby Comeback is a free delay plugin based on Baby Audio’s popular Comeback Kid delay/echo effect.

Much like its bigger brother, Baby Comeback CM can sound modern and clean, as well as vintage and lo-fi. You can use it for adding a subtle wide delay to a lead vocal, or as a massive vintage tape echo for your next shoegaze track.

There are four delay flavors to choose from. The “Wide” mode sounds clean while expanding the stereo image. The “Analog” mode is inspired by vintage tape delay units and bucket brigade echoes of yesteryear. “Saucey” delivers a lush delay sound that works exceptionally well on synth leads and pads. Finally, the “Cheap” mode emulates 80s rack delays and their irresistibly quirky lo-fi sounds.

Another feature worth mentioning is the Duck control. It will automatically lower the volume of the delayed signal when the input signal is present. This feature is a lifesaver if you want to add a lot of delay to a vocal while keeping the lyrics intelligible. The delay will remain audible, but the main vocal will cut right through it.

SuperflyDSP Wahwah, Phaser, Tremolo & Chorus Effects

Automatic Wahwah is a classic 70’s Wahwah effect. Modelled from state of art analog time-varying-filter.
Phaser creates smooth and subtle sweeping filter effect. Modeled from state of art time-varying-filter our effect provide you analog feel.
FlyingChorus. Overused in the eighty and know back to the hype more cunningly,
The Stereo Tremolo, generates analog feel Tremolo modulation. Stereo widening effect is achieved by panning the Tremolo waveform.

Valhalla Space Modulator

Valhalla Space Modulator is a versatile modulation effect plugin.
Eleven algorithms allow you to get through-zero flanging, barberpole flanging, detuning, doubling, strange echoes, reverbs, and all sorts of effects that defy description.

Nils K1v, a plugin that faithfully emulates the Kawai K1 digital synthesizer.

Nils K1v is a sample-based instrument that recreates the sounds and the functionality of the Kawai K1 synthesizer. The plugin includes K1’s original factory bank and all ROM cards, adding up to 768 presets in total. The preset browser includes a search feature and the ability to edit and store presets. Also, the Nils K1v plugin can import, and export SysEx presets and banks from and back to the original Kawai K1. It can be used as a patch editor for the hardware synthesizer.

Psyscope Beat-Synced Oscilloscope

Psyscope is a beat-synced oscilloscope that can analyze up to four audio channels simultaneously. The waveforms from each channel can be summed, showed individually, or displayed as differently colored layers. The latter option is particularly useful in electronic dance music, especially with “four on the floor” beats where multiple percussive instruments play at the exact same time.

PreFET, a saturation plugin that uses machine learning to emulate a 70s tabletop cassette recorder’s transistor preamp.

PreFET uses an artificial neural network algorithm that has simulates the transistor preamp found in an audio cassette recorder from the 1970s. The plugin takes advantage of the same technology that was used for the PreTube, a premium tape saturation plugin from the same developer. Unlike the PreTube plugin, which emulates three different preamp models, PreFET focuses on a single transistor preamp model.

CHOW Tape Model

CHOW Tape Model is a physical model of an analog tape machine, implemented as an audio plugin.
The software is based on a physical model of an analog tape machine that was developed as a class project for Music 420 at Stanford University. Although the plugin was initially intended to model the Sony TC-260 tape machine, the algorithm was later changed to be a more flexible simulation of a wider variety of analog reel-to-reel machines.
The plugin emulates all the sonic components of an analog tape machine. This includes the saturation and other non-linearities that can enhance the sound, as well as the lo-fi aspects of analog tape that are used for a “vintage” effect. There is a dedicated section for adjusting the depth and rate of wow and flutter that is applied to the signal. The user can also fine-tune the bias, drive, and saturation amount in the hysteresis section.

GMH Audio Wave Destroyer,

Wave Destroyer is a free distortion effect programmed by GMH Audio, the developer behind the free Buzz Cut soft clipper plugin, which we covered back in 2018. Whereas Buzz Cut focused on a single method of audio distortion, the new Wave Destroyer effect delivers a much more extensive arsenal of distortion types. The plugin also includes a set of frequency shaping features that make it a much more powerful sound design tool.
The plugin features three distortion modes: Saturate, Distort, and Destroy. Each mode can be fine-tuned using the Drive control, as well as the Asymmetry and Bias adjustments. Wave Destroyer also includes two EQ stages (pre-distortion and post-distortion), input and output gain adjustments, oversampling, a DC filter, a mix control, and a bypass switch. The two equalizer sections feature five adjustable frequency bands. It’s possible to link the two EQs for more effortless operation.
Thanks to its three distortion algorithms, Wave Destroyer is a rather versatile distortion utility. You can use it as a subtle saturation tool, a stompbox-style fuzz distortion unit, or as a crazy distortion effect for total audio annihilation.

2RuleFilter is a free Moog type-based filter plugin for PC & Mac with expanded functionalities for crazy, filtered glitch sounds.

The plugin is based on a classic, self-resonant Moog filter and features lowpass, highpass & bandpass settings. The filter cutoff frequency can be controlled manually, or by an LFO or by an envelope follower. It’s not a basic filter but has some cool additional features.

One of these is called “scrambler” that plays filtered signals randomly depending on the selected beat. Using this function, you can maintain the rhythmic, choppy, buffered, and tempo sync output. The mix knob mixes wet/dry signals. Further, there is a bit-crusher onboard that produces harsh, distorted sounds.

  • High Pass, Low Pass, Band Pass filter
  • Modulation of filter cut-off frequency by LFO (tempo-sync),  manually or envelope follower (reversible)
  • Bit crusher (16bit to 1 bit)
  • Scrambler that divides one measure to different time intervall and plays beats randomly.
  • Mix balance in between dry(input signal) and wet(filtered and bit crushed).
  • The sensitivity that allows the filter cut-off frequency be changed from roughly to smoothly. This effect is the same of parameter smoothing

Big-Sur Diode Clipper

Big-Sur is a freeware emulation of a diode clipper guitar pedal. There’s no information on which specific guitar stompbox is emulated, but the plugin seems to be based on the classic Big Muff distortion pedal. The developers describe Big-Sur as a stompbox that is suitable for distorted rhythm guitars and heavy leads, with a wide distortion spectrum and plenty of fuzz.
he interface features a bypass switch, four control knobs (Sustain, Level, Tone, and Mix), and two on/off switches – one for the Tone control and one for the oversampling feature. The user can also adjust the GUI size (from 80% to 125%) and control the graphics quality (useful for reducing the RAM usage).
